Most of the LMVSC travel basketball teams began regular season play during the weekend of December 1st. Prior to the start of the regular season, both of our 8th grade boys teams played in pre-season tournaments. Our 8th Grade Boys Red Team participated in the BRYC Thanksgiving Tournament, during which they advanced to the semi-final after going 4-0 in pool play.
On Tuesday, November 27th, LMVSC held its pre-season meeting with coaches in our recreational program. Although we are still looking for one coach, we will have 73 teams with players from Kindergarten through 12th grade playing recreational basketball this season. We are so grateful to our coaches who put in their time and energy to help grow our basketball program.
Mini-Dribblers is our program run by Riley Barrows for our 5 and 6-year-old players. Coach Riley has been running this program for almost ten years. In the program, Coach Riley introduces the players to the game of basketball and teaches them basic concepts about dribbling, passing and shooting, along with playing defense.
