On December 22nd, the 8th Grade Girls Travel Team beat an undefeated South Loudoun team to retain first place and improve their record to 4-0. The team, coached by Julia Ebron, had the game scheduled at the last minute and most of the players already had plans for the holidays and were not able to attend the game.
With only five players, the team was able to defeat a gritty South Loudoun team, 36-26. Three of those five players were in foul trouble, requiring the girls to play smartly and maintain aggressiveness in the fourth quarter. Additionally, the team had to fend off exhaustion with no substitutes. Coach Ebron wisely used her timeouts to give the girls adequate rest during the game.
We are proud of the team for the fortitude and intelligence displayed during their game. They maintain their spot at the top of the division and look forward to their next game against Fort Belvoir on Saturday the 5th at 9:30a at Specker Field House at Fort Belvoir. Shout out to Ella, Loden, Aani, Victoria and Ava.
