Rec Basketball

Playing basketball with neighborhood friends and classmates are the bases for forming teams.

Registration is open!  Deadline is June 13th.

 

Attention: New Registration Platform for our Basketball Programs!

When registering your player for our summer recreational basketball, please note that this platform differs from our previous registration databases. Below are some helpful tips on using our new registration site:

 (1) After selecting the “Register Here” button, please select the “Member Login” tab under the LMVSC logo.

 (2) When creating a member login for the first time, be sure that your password contains an Upper Case letter, a lower case letter, a number and a special character. Please be sure that your password is eight characters in length.

 (3) Continue following the instructions on registering yourself and your children into the registration system.

SCHOLARSHIPS:

Scholarships are available on request to players that qualify for Fairfax County Free or Reduced-price school lunches and or on Medicaid. More than one child shall pay $10.00 plus $5.50 County Fees per additional child per family.

  • Qualifications & Fees: Scholarships are available on request to players that qualify for Fairfax County Free or Reduced-price school lunches or are on Medicaid, and shall pay a reduced registration fee of:

  • Siblings: More than one child shall pay $10.00 plus $5.50 In-County fee ($35.50 Out-of-County fee) per additional child per family.
  • Submitting Financial Aid Documents: If applying for the reduced scholarship fee, please select the “Mail-In-Check” payment option, then scan or take a picture of accepted documents and send them via email to Jessie Gore, admin@lmvsc.org.
  • Payment: Once your child has been approved for the reduced scholarship fee, you can log into your account and pay via credit card. All checks and Money Orders must be made out to: “LMVSC” and sent to the club’s mailing address: P.O. Box 10202, Alexandria, VA 22310

 

FAMILY FEE MAXIMUM:

A family fee maximum of $300 for all registrations done at the same time. The $300 does not include the $5.50 per player County Application fee.

REFUNDS:

Refunds are provided only if your child cannot be placed on a team. If your child is injured or is suffering from a long-term illness prior to the beginning of the season, please contact LMVSC’s Executive Director, Lula Bauer, at director@lmvsc.org for any questions regarding refunds.

Rec Basketball Divisions

D Division Coed 1st & 2nd Graders

This division will be comprised of players who were in Kindergarten, 1st or 2nd grade during 2017-18.

C Division BOYS 3rd & 4th Graders

This division will be comprised of boys who were in 3rd and 4th grade during the 2017-18 school year.

C Division GIRLS 3rd & 4th Graders

This division is comprised of girls who were in 3rd and 4th grade during the 2017-18 school year.

B Division BOYS 5th & 6th Graders

This division is comprised of boys who were in 5th and 6th grade during the 2017-18 school year.

B Division GIRLS 5th & 6th Graders

This division is comprised of girls who were in 5th and 6th grade during the 2017-18 school year.

A Division BOYS 7th & 8th Graders

This division is comprised of boys who were in 7th and 8th grade during the 2017-18 school year.

A Division GIRLS 7th & 8th Graders

This division is comprised of girls who were in 7th and 8th grade during the 2017-18 school year.  If there are not a lot of girls who register, this division will be combined with the Boys A division.

NOTE: Teams are formed on first-come, first-served basis.  Additionally, because we will limit registration to six teams, no more than sixty players will be able to register in each division.  So please register early!

Fees

The summer recreational fee schedule is $90 per player, plus the Fairfax County fee of $5.50.  If you live outside of Fairfax County, this fee will be higher.

Refund Policy:  There will be no refund unless your child could not be placed on a team.

Practice & Match Locations

Practice: If space allows, teams will have one practice during the week of June 18th through June 22nd.  After June 22nd, there will be games only – no practices.

Games: Will be held on the weeknights at various local schools.

Inclement Weather Policy

Cancellations for inclement weather will be made when Fairfax County Public Schools close for the entire day or early due to weather.  If schools are closed on Friday, weekend use will not be automatically cancelled.  A decision concerning these activities will be made by 7:00 AM on Saturday and 7:00 AM on Sunday or as soon as possible if hazardous conditions develop.  Decisions will be broadcast on local television and radio stations.  FCPS Channel 21 on Fairfax County cable systems and the CRS Weather Line (703-324-5264).
