Rec Basketball

Playing basketball with neighborhood friends and classmates are the bases for forming teams.

We are currently out-of-season for our Rec Basketball Season.  Keep checking back for updates on our Inaugural Summer Season!

Important Information

  • Registration Deadline: Monday, November 20th, 2017
  • Coaches Meeting: Monday, December 4th, 2017
  • First Game: January 6th, 2018

SCHOLARSHIPS:

Scholarships are available on request to players that qualify for Fairfax County Free or Reduced-price school lunches and or on Medicaid. More than one child shall pay $10.00 plus $5.50 County Fees per additional child per family.

FAMILY FEE MAXIMUM:

A family fee maximum of $300 for all registrations done at the same time. The $300 does not include the $5.50 per player County Application fee.

REFUNDS:

Refunds are provided only if your child could not be placed on a team. If your child is injured or is suffering from a long-term illness prior to the beginning of the season, please contact LMVSC’s Executive Director, Lula Bauer, at director@lmvsc.org for any questions regarding refunds.

Rec Basketball Divisions

Mini Dribblers - U5-U6

Players MUST be 5 years old as of the first session. U5-U6 will meet Saturday mornings. The program is a developmental program for players 6 years of age. The program introduces 6 year olds to basketball related fundamental skills, which takes into consideration specific motor skill development in a noncompetitive environment.

D1 Division 1st Graders Co-ed

1st grade teams will have 8 players; play eight games, 5 vs 5; have one practice a week.

D2 Division 2nd Graders Co-ed

2nd grade teams will have 8 players; play eight games, 5 vs 5; have one practice a week.

C3 Division BOYS 3rd Graders

3rd grade teams are limited to 8 players; play eight games, 5 vs 5; have one practice per week.

C4 Division BOYS 4th Graders

4th grade teams are limited to 8 players; play eight games, 5 vs 5; have one practice per week.

C Division GIRLS 3rd & 4th Graders

3rd/4th grade teams are limited to 8 players; play eight games, 5 vs 5; have one practice per week.

B5 Division BOYS 5th Graders

5th grade teams are limited to 8 players; play eight games, 5 vs 5; have one practice per week.

B6 Division BOYS 6th Graders

6th grade teams are limited to 8 players; play eight games, 5 vs 5; have one practice per week.

B Division GIRLS 5th & 6th Graders

5th/6th grade teams are limited to 8 players; play eight games, 5 vs 5; have one practice per week.

A Division 7th & 8th Graders

7th/8th grade teams are limited to 10 players; play eight games, 5 vs 5; have one practice per week.

AA Division 9th & 10th Graders

9th/10th grade teams are limited to 10 players; play eight games, 5 vs 5; have one practice per week.

NOTE: Teams are formed on first-come, first-served basis, so please register early!

Inclement Weather Policy

Cancellations for inclement weather will be made when Fairfax County Public Schools close for the entire day or early due to weather.  If schools are closed on Friday, weekend use will not be automatically cancelled.  A decision concerning these activities will be made by 7:00 AM on Saturday and 7:00 AM on Sunday or as soon as possible if hazardous conditions develop.  Decisions will be broadcast on local television and radio stations.  FCPS Channel 21 on Fairfax County cable systems and the CRS Weather Line (703-324-5264).
