Congratulations to Coach Brian O’Dell and LMVSC Patriots 2008 Boys White, our LMVSC travel team of the week.

2008 Boys White were able to clinch first place of their division in NCSL league play last weekend

with it two-nil victory over BRYC Elite Academy.

With a strong desire to win in play as a team, 2008 Boys White were determined to finish their Fall 2019 league play on a high note.  In the opening minutes of the game, 2008 boys White center forward, Jackson Lopez, demonstrated brilliant individual quality by dribbling through the entire midfield and back line of BRYC before wonderfully and expertly placing the ball past the opposing keeper and into the back of the net.

The second goal resulted from a corner kick.  BRYC defenders cleared the ball, which was then recovered by the outside back, Eli Crozier, who then loft is the ball back into the danger area and was met on the head of Javier Canales.  Javier outhustled and outleapt his opponents to smash the ball in the back of that with tremendous power and technical ability.

Even after going two goals up, the team never relented, creating several more chances through expert midfield play.  The chances either bounced off the crossbar or goalposts, or glance just wide of the goal.  BRYC goalkeeper must also be noted for all of the great saves really made to keep the game respectable.

On the defensive side, the entire team defended well as one single cohesive unit, led by a brilliant back four, to maintain the shutout.  The back four were:  Eli Crozier, Alex Tylander, Miguel Penate, and Ezra Degafe.  Goalkeeper, Nathan Chiles, was outstanding in keeping the few shots the opponents were able to muster on frame from hitting the net.

According to Coach Brian, “The entire team contributed to what was an excellent season.  We have worked very hard in training on defending as a team, with at least seven players behind the ball at any time we are not in possession.  As a staff, you made it very clear that playing time was dependent on their efforts in this regard.”

Their efforts paid off as they only conceded 12 goals all season, while we scored 31. Great job boys!  Keep up the good work!
